I was hoping to just wait until the 21st when I'll be able to go up there in person, but got a little spooked, and ( Read more... )

I'm moving to Cambridge or thereabouts sometime in August, on the off chance that you're looking for a roommate then...

it's not extremely likely that I will be, but not out of the question, either. I'm looking at places now where the lease ends in August. I'd prefer not to have to move then, but if it does become necessary...

though, where are you going to be commuting to? it's quite likely there's an incompatibility there (I refuse to live somewhere which isn't a convenient commute. I don't have the patience for that). presumably that's part 2 of the big news?

i'm pretty sure todd is still in boston working at MIT. if you have a method of contacting him he may be able to help you out.
as i've looked for apartments in the boston area before, i'd recommend taking this one. you're not tied in if you find something better and it's relatively cheap for something close to the subway (well, in porter square). although, if you have a car, you should ask about parking which can be stupid in boston.
(600/month is pretty cheap but i guess you'd have housemates. when i was looking i was hell bent on living alone and i couldn't find anything for less than 700-800 ish)
