I could never live in Chicago. Its too cold, the winters are too long, and I just know that I would end up feeling shitty all the time because of the crappy weather. I know this because can barely stand it when it rains here

Yes, make no mistake about it, the weather sucks in the Midwest. It's even worse being four hours southeast of Chicago because there's less snow and more rain, which leads to everything icing over and being crappy and gray and ugly. Be glad you're in California (although the bay area when it rains is certainly no picnic either, so I can't say I blame you either way).
