So I've been doing this online dating thing for 6 months now and don't have a hell of a lot to show for it. In this time I have discovered that to do online dating you must have monumental amounts of patience, a high tolerance for stupid people, and an unhealthy willingness to part with your money for little guarantee of return ( Read more... )

God, I miss Katz's Deli so much it hurts. My favorite is the salami and cream cheese on rye. Get that with a plate of fries, and you'll be in heaven. (*sigh* I would kill for one of those right now.) The Yankee pot roast is great, too, but it may be a little messy for a date. Now I just have images from the menu dancing around in my head. It's a shame I won't be going back to Houston before we leave.

Good luck on the date! :)

I tried the online dating thing too last year on the insistence of a friend. Like you, I didn't have much luck with it. Most of my potential "matches" did seem to match at all. But good luck to you!

As for Katz's, don't order the fried pickles unless you know your date actually LIKES pickles. (Ask Matt about this.) Everything is yummy so you really can't go wrong, as far as I'm concerned. Just a word of the wise: if you want to impress, be wary of any food that has onions, spinach, and any food item that could potentially get stuck in your teeth or make your breath reek. (Ask Matt about that too.)

I don't remember what you are talking about. I have blocked that fiasco from my memory.

I did apologize about the fried pickles. As for the sandwich that I had, it was very tasty, just not something you should get on a date. For the record, I had a sort of bagel with lox type sandwich. It was very good, I was trying something new, but it had way too many onions on it.

In hindsight, I'm going to get my pot roast sandwich next time, and no fried pickles.
