We went to a birthing class for 7 hours yesterday. Much was discussed and, at the end, the 'professor' showed us all a movie of an actual C-Section

yeah, everyone told me not to see those or watch "baby stories" on t.v. no problem, not gonna. i don't want to basically be able to visualize exactly what my nether regions are going to go throug.
I mean, we learned a few useful things in that class but it was mostly a waste in my opinion. Of course, my Gnome was pleased by it for the most part so I'm glad we went but I really don't think it was necessary.
I'm more of the mind that baby is coming, there's nothing we can do to stop it or change that fact, so we might as well relax and let what happens happen. My Gnome is more of a type to worry about such things even though she can't change them.
Of course, I'm also not the one with a living organism in mah belly so who knows how calm I'd be then, right? ;)
that's what you have to keep remembering. she's the one who's body is refusing to coperate now, so what's it going to be like when she gives birth? and we always end up hearing these horror stories, and so it makes us, what if it's me? and worry about our bodies after birth, will our vag-je still be cool, or will it look ugly, ami good mom? etc... not that you don't have daddy worries, but trust me, it's worse for us.

So I haven't been on livejournal in over a year, and I have been ridiculously out of touch with you... but is that any excuse for the fact that I was totally and completely unaware of the fact that you are having a baby?!? Wow. Congratulations! That is very exciting and fabulous and utterly life-flipping. When is the baby due to slide out oh-so-effortlessly in a orgasmic natural birth? Oh, and check out Ina May Gaskin, rather than watching this ridiculous bloodbath of doom that the sadistic teacher inflicted on the birth class.

You know I'm never one to lament the diverging of a friend's life path. We all have our paths to walk......and it takes two to not call, neh? ;)
You should email your phone number to fear.my.wrath@gmail.com sometime in the vicinity of now so we can catch up a bit if that would make you smile some :)
Not only will I have a baby girl you should meet in late March/early April but there's also a slightly larger (now more than ever) one you would probably get along with too...
