I basically collected the stuff I find myself repeating over and over whenever a BW thread comes up. (The imperfect character consideration only came to me a few days ago, though.)
And the fact that usually gamers get caught on details ("But this is how armor points ablate!") when what really tells you about a game is the larger feel, how it plays as a whole and what the "strategic"/larger scale choices/goals are.

I wouldn't call it an "imperfect character", I'd call it a character that is more interesting than what you would have come up with left to your own devices. And that can get even better with trait votes! But, of course, the way you said it is more easily digested.
