Lifting restrictions

Next week is school vacation week. My mother is coming to visit at the end of the week and Jen is having gall bladder surgery on Friday, a week from today. I'm more than a little concerned about the lifting restrictions. She said she was told not to lift anything more than 10lbs for 4-6 weeks. 4-6 weeks of no help with the toddler? Are you freaking

Doctors differ so much on what they advise. I have friends who were told similar restrictions. My doctor told me to take it easy for a couple of days but then to just go by how I felt. The hours after my gallbladder surgery were worse that anything but the recovery was quicker and easier than I expected. I hope she has an easy time of it and everything can get back to normal quickly.
