Yes! It read like 'only capital letters Special Needs Children have special needs; as for other kids, you can have twenty, no problem - they barely have needs at all'. I'm sure she didn't mean it like that, but that's how I read it.
Yeah, that's how I read it too. I think she was probably also just thinking about really really complicated kids but then I wonder - what is "too complicated"? And my brain does not want to go there.
So really, if you have a kid with complications, you should just stop having kids? Arrrghghghgjgkj
She has contractures in her ankle joints and hip joints (too tight; doesn't have full range of motion). The braces/casting is intending to stretch the hamstrings and gastrocneimus muscles so that she can stop walking on her toes.
Because you're lighter than air? A ballerina? Because it feels good? Because kids are odd little beings? So many good reasons. But A's reason is that she actually can't flatten her foot well because all of the muscles are too tight.
