Yesterday, at Sparkle's constant urging since Monday, we made home-made pumpkin pie.  Sparkle got enamored of the idea to transform her beloved pumpkin into food after going to the pumpkin patch on a field trip on Monday. I remember as a child I tended to prefer the artificial flavors to the real ones.

I was wondering if it might be a good idea to remind Sparkle, while she is enjoying her pumpkin Jello, that you learned what she liked from her teacher. Just sort of a way of letting her know that good things can happen when you talk to her teacher about things that happen in school.

My mother (your grandmother J) would never put ground cloves in her pumpkin pie, even if the recipe called for it, because she didn't like the way they turned the pie khaki-colored when it was supposed to be deep orange.
