A Moving Experience: Episode 1
I watch LifeTime movies from time to time, mostly for laughs. One of the things I laugh at is the portrayal of a person or couple moving. Many of these movies start out with a woman in her new house, pointing out where to place the couch. And voila! She's moved in!

A New House, a New Hip, and New Shower Curtains and So Many Hats
On November 8 escrow closed on a house I bought. I was shocked by the closing costs but I shouldn't have been. That was an indication of how much I did not know or think to ask when I got into this. Recently I loaded the latest version of the Sims on my computer but I couldn't get it to play correctly. I miss the opportunity to screw around with these lives.

The Aging Hipster
I was going to use "hip, hip, hooray!" as the title of this post. But it's so obvious.
I'm actually not a hipster. I don't follow trends or make my own. However, I do have hips. And I just had one replaced. So in that context I'm an aging hipster.

Going Solo
On August 24 I headed for Phoenix for a CT scan, blood test, and visit with the oncologist. Alone. This was the first time I had chosen to make the trip on my own. A Side Trip Down Avenue Alcohol
I listen to a podcast called Death, Sex, and Money. It's about subjects we don't often talk about but should. I just finished an episode on alcohol. Of Zooming and Scanning and Trying for a New Hip
Nothing momentous has happened lately. But there is some hope for my hip.
Yesterday I had a zoom meeting with the PA, Sara. My daughter Mary joined us from Colorado. This meeting was to check on how things are going. I'm doing well on Tagrisso, 40 mg, but blood tests continue to show decreased platelets. As of this week my platelet level is 86,000 ( Read more... ) -
Visiting Mayo via Zoom
The last few visits I've had with Mayo doctors and nurses have been via Zoom. Blood tests were done locally and sent to Mayo. Today I had an MRI locally and its results will go to Mayo (as well as to my primary care doctor). Then we will discuss it by Zoom.

Getting to know you, platelets
No road I have ever been on has been smooth. I think, on balance, that my road of cancer treatments has not been unduly rough, not nearly as bad as some I have heard of.
