"Serendipity" Art Show - Page 1

I'll show you some of the artwork that I've put in the 4-artist show at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. Just a few at a time, so you don't get jaded (and so you have more to look forward to!) The Opening Reception is Friday, April 24, from 5:00 - 7:00, and you are invited! The show will be up through July

These paintings are terrific. Your show should be a hit!

Your bridge piece for some reason made me think of the scene from the Woody Allen movie (can't remember which one) where Woody listens as (I think) his girl friend's brother talks about a fantasy of his to commit suicide by ramming his car into some oncoming car in the dead of night ... and, of course, the brother is the one driving Woody home at the end of the night.

The other thing that flashed through my twisted mind was "bridge? what country am I driving in? what side of the road should I be on?"

Don't ask. I just let these thoughts flow in and flow out.

I'm laughing, Mark, because while I was designing this painting, I had to remind myself repeatedly which side the cars should be on. I kept getting confused. I think it comes from having the main cars coming directly at you. Most of us are used to being inside a car, not facing them by themselves from the outside.

I remember the scene from the movie ("Annie Hall" wasn't it?) and the dead-to-the-world voice the brother used. Eerie and funny at the same time.
