So here I am, having a relaxing evening while hanging on the couch watching Love Actually. And then this actor comes on... I know him! Took me half an hour, but I've figured it out now. It's Snape! Oh yeah! First time I saw it (don't say it!) and fell in love with it. I am a sucker for romantic movies, and romance we got! *happy sigh*

And let's blame my late notification on being tired. ;) I knew I knew him... or rather, his voice. That's what finally clued me in. Must watch all of HP again. :D

Hehe. I had an edition of Hamlet a couple of years ago with a picture of him as Hamlet inside, on one of the pages.

There's also an edition of Romeo and Juliet with David Tennant on the cover, but my hate for that play makes me not want to seek it out particularly. I get my DT pics elsewhere. ;)

I'm not much interested in what actors did before/after a movie/series/whatever I love. I identify too much. *g* So if I would ever see DT play Romeo, I'd be yelling, "oy! That wouldn't be the Doctor's solution!"

But I did look it up on Google. The results you get... Looking for David Tennant Romeo Juliet: Veritaserum - Everything Harry Potter - Book 7, Movie 5 News. I kid you not!

Okay, I'll bite. What's wrong with Romeo and Juliet? *g*

Oh boy, I have to be reasonable now? *g* It's not really not that clever, compared to some of his other plays. Macbeth was so greay. I didn't particularly like King Lear, but it was nice and complex, at least. Hamlet was an annoying character ("Should I kill myself or not, should I kill myself or not?" YES! *g*), but again, it had nice and complex themes.

R&J are just two 14-year-olds who fell in love with each other's pretty faces (it was "love at first sight." Presently, if a guy forgot all about his great love - Rosaline - at seeing another pretty girl at a party, we would call him a scumbag), ran away and got married, as if they could even take care if themselves in Manchua or wherever they were going to go, all alone - and then they kill themselves!

I told my teacher a few years ago that it was really cheesy, and he said that the concept is only cheesy because it's been copied; Shakespeare was the first. Which was a good point. *g* But still. It's cheesy. The others are better.

LOL, I think it makes sense. Alan Rickman looks MUCH different in HP. Much younger, for one. I didn't know him, but after seeing a multitude of females fangirling over his Snape, I looked him up on www.imdb.com.

Personally, I wouldn't have thought he was born in 1946 if you paid me.

He doesn't look too different, just a bit older and a huge change in hair colour.

So he's 60. Snape went to school with Harry's parents. So you can go figure out how old he must've been. And how young Alan Rickman looks. Quite impressive!

LOL!! This is funny!

I've always loved Alan Rickman, ever since "Die Hard" and "Sense and Sensibility". He was great even in lesser movies (like Kevin Costner's "Robin Hood" - his performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham was perfect). Thanks to Wendy, I recently discovered "Truly Madly Deeply". *happy sigh*

Anyway, all this is to say that I knew him very well long before he was picked to play Snape. Now, whether my love for dear Severus is somewhat influenced by Alan Rickman's portrayal or not is a whole 'nother matter. *g*

I've watched Die Hard, S&S and Robin Hood (that's a *great* movie, btw!) plenty of times, yet I have trouble picturing him in it. How bad is that???
