I don't even notice the spam--it all goes into bulk mail and I just scan the "from" column to see if anything got in it that shouldn't, and delete the lot. Don't even look at the titles. Hopefully most people do the same and don't pay attention to them! But then, most of the spam I do get seems to be (from the titles) a mix between ads for "free" stuff (including software downloads), penile enhancement, and incomprehensible gibberish.
Ooh, Rome! Hmm . . . What's in Rome? I really don't know. Let's see if Wikipedia is any help . . . Well, there's a lot of stuff listed. The catacombs sound interesting. And of course, the Colosseum. How's that? :D
I do scan the names first, but being a mod, I can receive emails from board members and just not know their name... so I have taken to actually scan the topic too. I have deleted some spam that was not actually spam before. Whoops. *g*
And yes, that's in Rome. Never heard of that before, you know. ;) Those are on my list of things to go and see. But checking wiki is a good idea!
I'll be very careful with my purse. I still remember all too well what happened in Paris. :P And I'll stay well away from caffee/cappuchino, I still don't drink (or even remotely like) it. Tea, though, any time!
I probably won't have time to go outside the city, nor would it really be within the budget. But all the other points are good enough. And I'll see what I can do about that pic for you!
I'll tell you after I get back how it all went, k?
Sas, how long are you staying in Rome? Annette and I will get there the next Sunday (April 22) and will stay for a few days. Any chance we can meet you?
*headbangs* I'm leaving again on Friday, so I guess that's a big nono. Too bad, I'd have loved to meet up with you two. Though I'd have a hard time convincing my mom it's a good idea, as I'm going with her. Ah well, maybe another time.

Then again, the only difference between intelligence and stupidity is that intelligence has its limits. :S
Have fun in Rome! I've never been there, but it must be a beautiful city. :)

And thanks. :)) Next city trip might take me to Athens. Also a beautiful ancient city I'm dying to see up close.
