Yes, it was a good night. The party in power needs to be thrown out every now and then. They used to complain about all the shenanigans and corruption of the Democrats back before 1994. Just took them 12 years to become as corrupt and to turn everything into political games instead of working for the people.

So it is good to see them thrown out and the Dems in now. Of course in several years the Dems will forget and start with corruption and games to and will need to be reminded of who they work for.

But for now it was a very good night and maybe we can get away from government being controlled by the extremist in our country.

Our country will always be controlled by extremists, that's what power does to people we all should know that by now.

Yes but call me an optimist that I believe there is a period when new people come into power that they stick to trying to actually doing good instead for everyone. Then over time I just think they start focusing more and more on pushing their views over everything else ... sort of a movement from idealism to extremism which cares more about holding onto power than doing good with it.

Was it Plato who said that power corrupts?

The took the senate .. can we say YAY! No more worries about another uber conservative appointed to the supreme court. Good chance to get some moderates back in. Not to mention no more spying on people and tapping phones and secret prisons just because the Pres says to do it and the congress (previous) won't do any oversight but just rolls over like a lap dog.
