You know, during the week I feel on top of the world. I love my job, I love my schedule, I love my students. I love my coworkers. I love my TESOL classes, my teachers and my classmates. If there's no rule against being friends with your students on Facebook, it's at least very much frowned upon. I'm only friends with students who have either graduated or who go to school at the school where I taught last year. They won't even notice if you ignore them, like as not. Of course, that depends on the age of the students you teach. If you K-12, I'd avoid friending them. If not, why not?

I'm praying for you about the PhD programs. You're brilliant, I'm sure they'll accept you.

I feel your pain about long-distance relationships.
