Domestic Snack Swap, Round 1: Texas to Pennsylvania

Sep 21, 2007 16:27

All I can say is, WOW! I got a big box o' goodies from my snack swap partner, Pegasus436, in Texas. I am now a believer in Texas-sized generosity - look at that big box of cookies, and those bottles of sauce! This is awesome - I have never even seen any of these before - except for the Violet Pastilles, which are one of my favorite things in the ( Read more... )

What is it, exactly? I love having all these things I have never heard of! I sent Tastycakes, PA maple syrup, a Hershey bar, locally made gingersnaps, a locally made champagne mustard, tahini, Herr's boardwalk potato chips, Snyder's pretzels (I didn't realize that they are sold all over), postcards, Guldenberg's peanut chews, candy from a popular local candy store, and more. It was a lot of fun to shop for it!

Have you ever seen any of the other foods that she sent me?

Pocky is a favorite Japanese snack of mine. Basically cookies in stick form covered in chocoalte. They're really tasty and it's hard not to eat the whole box in one go. I usually enjoy them with some Bubble Tea, another Japanese snack; sorry but I couldn't wrap that one up for ya! :P The Yorkie Bar and Jammie Dodgers are from England, and I snack on a LOT of English stuff cuz of my bf, so I thought I'd share those with ya. I'm SO glad that you like Violet Pastilles. I had no idea. Those are another thing introduced to me by my bf. I hope you enjoy everything! :) I'm munching on those Asher chocolate covered pretzels as I type this! :P

I am having so much fun! The Yorkie bar is delicious - so creamy! We have gone through a lot of that big box of Surtido Rico cookies - they're all yummy, as are the Jammie Dodgers. And the pecans are so fresh and flavorful.

Hi! It's great to hear from you! I checked out super_supper the other day and didn't see any posts from you, and wondered how you were doing, too :-)

Yes, the snack swap was a lot of fun - they do it on an ongoing basis, so you can always join in if you want to.

I spent November doing NaNoWriMo - you write 50,000 words in 30 days - so I didn't have time for much else. I actually did make a yummy sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving at my mom's - but I didn't take a picture!

Now it's Chanukah, so there is a lot going on here...but I will be back on super_supper once things calm down again.

How about you - how's school going? Are you still cooking up a storm?

Judy

I think I am in the same boat as you! We have probably a couple dinner photos still sitting on my camera that haven't been uploaded yet.. I will get to those soon I hope! We have been so busy - in the process of trying to move across the country, from new england to the Bay area! It is a lot to plan for. I applied to an art college out there, and we flew out for 3 days last weekend to look at the school and nearby apartments ( ... )

Chanukah came very early this year - it took a lot of people by surprise!

That's great that you're going to art school! The Bay Area is a great place to live (but expensive...). That's a huge move from New England. My brother lived in SF for years, and I used to love visiting him. Once you're there, you must get a hot fudge sundae at Ghirardelli's in Ghirardelli Square - they are awesome.

The "novel" I wrote (which is strictly for myself - NaNo is a way to encourage people to write creatively, but what you write isn't read by anyone else unless you show it to them) is based a lot on several years when I lived overseas as a little girl. If nothing else, I got a lot of memories on paper.

Good luck with your finals!
Judy
