Seems 35mm will be a thing of the past in the movie theater. Everything is going digital, meaning theaters like drive inns will have to upgrade or die.

Also, digital has the ability to project live shows taking place someplace else. Want to see the Pixie's concert but a) can't afford the ticket, b) can't drive to $City, c) would have to make it a multiday trip and lose your job? Tada, digital theaters can let people watch live without going all that distance. This, I think, is what is going to happen to theaters in the country -- in addition to current movies, you'll be able to watch performances in other cities for far less cost than going in person.
