need good books!

i need a reading list for the summer...

so far i've requested Dan Brown's other 2 novels Deception point and Digital Fortress (but it mite take long to get these from the lib), Frank Herbert 's Dune, Louis Sachar's Holes, Stephen Collins' Eye Contact , and Arthur Goldens' Memoirs of a Geisha (which i don't think i'll get b4 the end of my vacation

Um, I know it's nitpicking, but it's bugging me: the author of Dune is actually named Frank Herbert.

I'd also recommend: the rest of the Dune series (Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, etc.), "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series (called "a trilogy in five parts"), and the Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia series, if you haven't read them already.

READ HOLES. It's an amazing book.

I wouldn't tell you not to read the other Dan Brown books, just don't buy them.

Let me know what you think about Dune. I watched the miniseries before I read the book, and it was the miniseries that made me fall in love with the story and characters, so (you haven't seen them, right?) I'm very interested in hearing what you think of the book when you're done reading it.
