We haven't been able to get Nayjah fixed, due to other, more pressing, financial obligations. We knew we would be dealing with her meow-iness, but were prepared for that, as long as we were able to lock her into the TV room in the basement during the night so we could get some sleep -- with her own litter box, food & water, of course! Right now we live in an apartment so the cats escaping just means the hallway which will only cause an irritated human to chase them back into the apartment. Though they have no interest in doing this and have never done it the great wide world might hold more appeal. Especially if there's a male cat sniffing around.
As for a kitten I'd love to take one but I know my husband won't agree. Not with our own baby on the way.

He feels it would be hypocritical to give up Murphey due to the costs of his illness but then take on the costs of a new kitten (shots, fixing, etc).
