It's sticky and hot again...

..although not as hot as it was at the beginning of the week, thank God, and not as hot as it is for my UK buddies ::hands you all a cold drink and fans you with my big plumey fan::

Just got done paying bills, after getting back from dropping hubby at work, taking my daily walk, and doing a little grocery shopping. Not much, mind you, as we are off tomorrow for a few days away. We're visiting my parents to see how the new house has shaped up (they moved in last month), celebrate my dad's 75th birthday a bit late (and my early 50th as well - less than a month away now!), and then Ron and I are returning for two nights to a B & B we went to last year near Ithaca. It's a lovely place called McLallen House in Trumansburg, New York. The couple that owns it are very nice, and they have a splendid breakfast, with great tea, that they offer.

While we're there, my intent is to visit two of my favorite New York wineries, Red Newt Winery and Bistro , which produces fantastic wines, and Shalestone Winery - all they do are reds, which is right up our alley lol... Yep, it's the alcohol tour, as we will also visit my favorite microbrewery Ithaca Beer. I'm psyched about the new beers they are now producing, as excited as I was when I realized that they were now selling their beer here in Connecticut! My local liquor store carries their stuff. My only complaint is figuring out the timing for making it to each of these places, as we'll be there Sunday through Tuesday only, and Shalestone and Ithaca Beer, I just realized, aren't open on Monday.... bummer. I'll figure it out, no worries lol.

I really would like to return to Stone Cat Cafe, which Ron and I visited two years ago when we were in the area for our 25th anniversary. It overlooks Seneca Lake, and they have a jazz brunch on Sunday that I'd like to go to. Hmm, we can make this work - brunch at Stone Cat, stop at Shalestone for a tasting, back to Ithaca Beer for a tasting there, and then see how capable I am of driving elsewhere ;-) We can get back over to Red Newt on Monday.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. When we get back, I've got music to get ready for upcoming gigs - August is shaping up to be quite busy, even with the Vermont vacation coming up....
