I wanted to wish everyone on my flist a lovely Valentine's Day! Big hugs and smooches to you all - I hope you have a great day today.
Yesterday was my son's 17th birthday, which just blows my mind!
I realized that this is the second to last birthday we may be celebrating with him, since he will be off to college in another year and a half ::sniff:: I cannot believe how fast the time has gone! Here is a picture of him and his cake last night -
The funny thing was, I took the pictures and a little bit of video at exactly 8:34 PM, which was the time he was born! Quite by accident, but pretty funny! He requested a cake from Coldstone Creamery, so I picked up that one, which is their Cookie Dough Delirium cake, and very delicious! Eric was thanking me profusely for it. I actually had a piece along with Ron - I've been on the South Beach diet for a month, have lost 7 pounds +/- so far, on my way down another 7 to 10 pounds, and that cake was the first real sugar I've had since the diet started - awhoohaa!! We took him to the local Japanese restaurant last night for sushi and sashimi, and got him some strategy games for his PC - the expansion set for Victoria and a WWII simulation game that he wanted. Plus, with the snow and ice and rain we had yesterday, they canceled school, so it was a really good day for him! (Me too - no teaching because school was canceled.)
So, I got in my walk at the mall this morning after dropping hubby off at work. Futzed around on the computer, about to go take a shower, and then off to work - I'm giving the kids a written test today on key signatures, which I prepared on Tuesday afternoon, thankfully - I would have been in trouble if I'd waited to make it up, since school was canceled yesterday :-) My voice lesson got postponed to this afternoon, and then I am rehearsing with someone tonight for the music at our evening church service this coming Sunday. I think I'll be stopping by where my friend is playing tonight as well, and do some Latin jazz and sing a bit with him. That will be fun!
Have a great day, everyone!
