today, I am thankful...

Nov 27, 2008 10:38

for my family, immediate and extended. We've been through a lot together, and there's plenty left to still get through, but it's made us stronger and closer, and I'm so grateful to belong to them. (And for the doggies, too!)

that I don't have to go to work again until Monday. :P  (But also, that I have a job.)

for the sunshine and good weather today!

for our President-Elect and a movement for change that's not over yet! For the chance to work together to make things better. For the wonderful possibilities in this country that we haven't even begun to explore.

that I found my contact lens case! (Hey, sometimes it's the small things. :D)

for the opportunities I have had and will have. I'm very lucky, and it's important to remember that, no matter what.

for the house that gives me shelter, the car that takes me places, the clothes that keep me warm, and the joy in my heart.

that I have friends who, no matter how long it might've been since we've seen each other, are always there for me, and who know I'm always there for them. "There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them." Okay, so that last part doesn't exactly pertain to my friends and me, but we've shared some experiences that certainly seemed that big.

that I've recently discovered writing can be at least as much of an emotional outlet for me as drawing or painting.

that I'm about to turn twenty-ten, and feeling a little bit like the world is spread out before me.  As if I can go absolutely anywhere from here!

and, of course, for all of you!

So I thought we'd all tell why we are thankful for each other!  Because, regardless of this being an American history type holiday, the meaning behind it, of appreciating things and people you might not appreciate every day, should be global, right?

Leave a comment under the appropriate threads for the first letter of your friends' user names, adding the user name to the subject line when you post as seen here, so they're easier to find later.

You can say anything you want: appreciation, good wishes, compliments, limericks, etc., just as long as it's positive. :)

I didn't lock this entry, so you can link the Cheering Charm Meme to people who aren't on my friends list.

I'll be at my grandmother's for most of the afternoon, but I hope there are others around who can kick this thing off!

Have fun, and have a happy Thanksgiving, and that goes for all of you!

wub, thanksgiving, cheer meme, the world needs more hugs
