The truth is, it happened five years ago, and he shouldn't be able to recall it so easily. It wasn't love.
Only, the memories are always ready to be brought forth, any time his mind wanders, any moment given to impulse. He tries not to think about it, her, but this is his one vice.
He can't help the need to go over every word uttered, the way a Muggle flicks through the thin cardboard cases holding albums in a music shop. Seemingly idle but taking care not to skip a single one.
Bloody fantastic; now he's thinking about Muggles.
