He always says the wrong thing. Always. Even when he thinks about it first. Even when he gets the words right in his head, they still come out badly. It shouldn't be this difficult.
She always has grease on her face, or on her clothes. And she can always, always, count on Jayne or the captain to mess it up for her if she doesn't first.
But most of the time, when they're together, words don't matter. Then there is heat, and sweat, and no room for anything else to get in the way.
Love? Maybe. Timing? They'll get there.
