World Science Fiction Convention, home of the Hugo Awards.

It's in San Jose this year; we were going to drive down but the smoke put paid to that idea.

I was trying to come up with something to say about your Scottsdale situation but all in all I'm out of wisdom at this juncture.

The more people you love, the more losses you will experience, but this year has been almost as bad as 2006 that way.

And then I got a med change that ended up causing edema that re-awoke some ligament damage that I'm still having to do PT for, and which is going to make con-going special.

I'm doing OK although very sad at bad moments; not depressed, just unhappy, and able to experience joy where I find it.

On the other hand, I look at therapeutic exoskeletons with envy.
