For anyone who's interested in the origins of life etc., I thought this was rather cool. They've discovered bacteria that live completely independently of the sun

You've Heard of chemosynthetic bacteria yeah? They've been around for ages. Although not so sure if "they" think they're on other planets. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemosynthesis
