I think you and Harriet would get along very well. And her feelings about writing are very sensible. (Though I do not think that Ms Sayers was as relaxed as all that. I don't think she took Harriet's advice either!)

Although her books have got their howlers/plot holes in. I suspect she wrote that bit from the heart.

I'm one of her nine, usually -- I guess I'm too far removed from the setting to catch them. Though I do notice when she cheats by hiding a solution from the reader after the characters already know it. That frosts me a bit.

Speaking of mysteries... I've been hit by an idea that I want to develop, but I worry I'd be stepping on your toes. May I email you?
