Anyway, Vista has dropped the last straw. I have been having problems with Vista a lot lately. I'll have Chrome and/or Firefox open with many tabs, and maybe one or two things running in the backgroun (Torrent, etc.), and it will be slow as

Oh wow - how low! I knew I wasn't going to get Vista - but now I know why some DVDs (and others) sound so terrible.

Vista's not very good. Not absolutely horrible IMO, but not exactly great. I'm having an issue right now, though, because I want to get a new (RE: newer) laptop, but it seems like it's a pain in the ass to get drivers for anything BUT vista for newer hardware. o_o;

That's part of the reason I'm going to switch to Ubuntu. Amusingly enough, there is more support for drivers in the open source community than there is support for XP drivers among manufacturers. I installed XP and Ubuntu on that spare laptop I have; Ubuntu was good to go from the start while XP has shown some driver complications.
