it never made me uncomfortable, but it's the first time i so heartily agreed with him... except that last i checked, he still didn't support gay marriage, which is highly hypocritical of someone preaching anti-divisiveness.

it's kind of spotty. obama has claimed that he supports civil unions and not gay marriage, but at the same time voted against both the federal marriage amendment and the defense of marriage act (both attempts to prohibit gay marriage). he's for allowing individual states to determine it for themselves ( ... )

Yes I do!

I've already started discussing a Washington D.C. trip with Will. I think talking about it now is a good idea.

A few things:

1) Brilliant speech. I've gained a lot more respect for Obama since watching it. For a long time, I've been having difficulty articulating the details of my own views on race, and I'm quite glad to hear someone in a position of power present a viewpoint that I can so greatly appreciate. Really right on.

2) A response to you e-mail is on its way, along with some of my current writing. Stay tuned.

3) Guess who's seeing ACID MOTHERS TEMPLE & THE MELTING PARAISO U.F.O. tonight! Been looking forward to this show for a while. I'll tell you all about it at some point if you're interested.
