Scientists invent a gel that undergoes peristalsis

This may be far more interesting to me as a result of being in a medical field, but plainly stated: this is really fucking cool.

A quick primer: peristalsis is the system of movement that your bowels perform in the process of digesting food.  It's basically your intestines rhythmically contracting

this is a really cool post. I'd been meaning to ask you about Theo Jansen because I've sometimes thought of you showing me his inventions and couldn't remember his name or how to find his video clips. That big dog/walking video is excellent. You're totally a robot-o-phile, by the way. You should see Wall-E, it's really good.
