Ye olde musings on the November 14th episode of "Crossing Jordan;" sorry I couldn't be arsed to learn the ep. title.
So, Devan's dead. All right, I get that that's tragic (generally speaking; I, personally, couldn't stand her). And, yes, she was a co-worker, which makes it personal. I get all of that. But why, why, in the name of all that is televised and fictitious, did everyone choke up over it? Why did Macy read poetry at the crash site? Why was everyone trying to pretend that they didn't all hate her (except Woody, of course, but, as a friend pointed out, "Woody likes everyone")? Jordan was the only one who was honest about it; she acknowledged that she was upset not because Devan was dead per se, but because Jordan had been unkind to her - though Lily was kind enough to point out that Devan often deserved it. Sure, it's a loss when someone you know dies horrifically like that, but the overly weepy tone made the whole ep. ring false for me.
And was I only imagining that Devan's mother pretty much admitted that Devan had a crush on Jordan? Now, see, to me, that's tragic. Think of all the nookie Jordan missed!
