Bonus cute
Have some cygnets.
Because why not?
Swan parent watches me dubiously, cygnet says, "Who cares!" and reaches for some algae. (This was at a pond in Foxboro that I got lost finding and probably can't find again; it was also technically private land, but no one seemed to be home at the nearest house...)
Same batch of cygnets, both parents. Cygnets now in proper line. (Later, the parents broke off from each other again, and what I thought of as the father came over to eye me dubiously and munch veggies closer to the shore. Not sure if he thought I might feed him things or not, but I declined.)
This is from a different pond, on the side of US 1 in Wrentham. There's only one swan there when I visit (I've been a couple times), so I think sie is a solo parent for some reason. Anyway. Sie has 6 cygnets, and one of them is whiter than the others. (But since it doesn't have red eyes, it's leucistic, I suppose.) It got tired, during this swim, so it got to ride on its parent's back for awhile. Zzz.
