How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.

A terrific composition, and yet: there is one star without which we could not learn, nor love, nor live.

I feel through my pride; shallow, empty, and vain
And sorrow for a Star I loved, that is now in pain
Though I did not see the tears, I can clearly see the stain
And like your tears, this too shall pass as does mid-day rain
Though this might take a little time.

I am so sorry you are going through this...I once told you that I don't trust anyone, I only trust people to be who they have shown me to be; I trust you will come out of this a better person.

I wish I could take credit for the poem, I didn't have the author's name when I posted it last night, I do now: w h auden

That said, considering my personal symbol and the situation in which I find myself, the poem is appropriate for me on so many levels. It was kind of a 'right place right time' thing. I actually posted it to archive it as it was posted for me from someone on Facebook. I may write more on the cause later. I'm not sure if I can put words to it yet.
