cameraless animation test

May 25, 2007 12:41

so i have been trying out a new (to me) animation technique for making a cameraless (or direct on film) 35mm short. Basically in a very tedious process, i punch holes out of found footage and embed into into another piece of film, in this case clear leader. i have all sort of idea of where this could go, but here is my first test:

I'm curious what else it could do or where you could go with it. I think to form an honest critique or opinion I would need to see more to really understand whats going on and what the end result will be like. What are you doing this weekend? Would you want to hang out? Let me know. my cell is down so use LJ, AIM, or e-mail.

no such luck. i suppose i'll have to continue...

my weekend is fairly filled, but we should all get together soon! Agreed.

That was fun. I would definitely take it further...unless you have tons of other things to do, why not?

i think it's neat, but i have a hard time seeing what it's supposed to be, really. i agree with the first comment about needing to see more. :)

it's almost the first. eeek! i need to get on something.

yeeeeaaaahhh...

i'll get right on the "make more" comment... ;)
suppose i was trying to see what the motion would look like. i really need a film viewer 'cause trying to see it in my head isn't working out... i've been looking for one with no luck. they are old and a piece of history now.

i think i'm going to have to find another punch-out method. i dulled 3 pairs of hole punches for the silly 3 seconds. that's not a good rate, even in the things are only a dollar. but where can one find quality hole-punches?

look in the scrapbooking section at a hobby lobby like store. rich housewife bitches spend mad money on all kinds of crazy hole punch thingies. i bet they have some good ones. i recently bought a 3/4 inch one that's pretty nice for making magnets.
