Wedding invitation question and a POLL

So I heard something today and I was like HUH?

I heard that it's pretty much only Mormons that put photos in wedding invitations, and that in the "real world" it's considered tacky.  Seriously?  I love getting the engagement picture in the invite.  Then again, I also love Christmas letters in cards.

So here are my questions for all y'all.

I would have put a picture in ours, but we did a totally not traditional postcard as a reception invite. We didn't invite anyone but immediate family to the wedding, to the invites were just for our luau reception.

We did postcard thank you's with a wedding picture on the front.
