painting 3 done.
i was really proud of this one until the last day of class and i felt like i couldn't do anything right. the waterfall really frustrated me...as i'm sure you can tell. also making the water look like water was difficult. i enjoyed painting the trees however...i channeled the skills of bob ross for those. some of the colors didn't photograph right. mostly just that the shadows under the trees on the left is a lot darker..
the painting is of tahquamenon falls in the UP...we went there a lot growing up and we had to pick a picture with lots of colors so i thought this one would be interesting. i dunno if i'm gonna have my mom hang it up or not yet...might still want to poke at it after i turn it in tomorrow. and then i'll decide if i want it displayed.
i sure wish i knew what my teacher has given me for a grade on my first two paintings. oh well i guess.
last painting is a self portrait................i do not like self portraits. at all. my theory is that teachers assign them just because they know students hate them so much. i get sick of looking at myself and it makes you anaylyze every aspect of the way you look. ("is my nose really that big?? hmm i guess it is. ugh i need a nose job.") and then if you don't paint it that way you get marked down since it's supposed to be painted accurately. booo. i wish i could have taken one of those abstract/interpreted painting classes to fill my requirement. but alas, i couldn't.
now i'm just trying to figure out what i'm going to do with a painting of my head. :P
