The Nine Lives of Chloe King is based on a book series, so that's where all the cat stuff came from, I reckon.

I'm watching it and Teen Wolf, but not really interested in Switched at Birth. The love interest girl on Teen Wolf looks like she could be Eliza Dushku's sister.

I did notice it was based on a book. And I suspect I'd like the book more, since there's no actors to badly deliver the snarky comments!

I was trying not to compare Chloe King to Buffy, if only because it cannot possibly compare favorably. With Veronica Mars or Joan of Arcadia, it had a chance. :)
