I get really, really annoyed when I go to the barn, hoping to ride my ungrateful nag and school the other ungrateful nag on the longe, only to find that they have very emphatically rolled in the mud.  They do it to irritate me, I tell ya!  In my next life I get goldfish.

I'm sure they did it simply to have a "horse-laugh" at your expense. Animals, including dogs, cats, birds, or horses can be frustrating. But think of how dull life would be without them.

Oh, they do this to me all the time. They seem to know when I'm planning to ride/school, and find the appropriate spot to roll. Today we're dry and sunny, so their equine butts will work.

Ah, but can you shoe a goldfish? ;-)

Noted, but when a goldfish dies, it goes down the loo. Horses, ergh! Still, I wouldn't trade these two for Shadowfax any day.
