Makeover time

Next week, I'm going to explain what I've been doing for the past three months.

Right now, all you need to know is that I got a job as an adult webmaster. Yeah, I know, it's the only job that doesn't involve dolphins or research but is still perfect for me.

Go look at spartacusleathers.com. Look at it really carefully. Then in a couple days ( ( Read more... )

Interesting. Is that the only website you're webmastering for?

I took a brief look at at it.. what, in particular, should I notice about its behaviour?

Notice whatever you notice. Stuff you like, stuff you don't like, imagining that you were in the market for some nipple clamps or something.

My employers, Spartacus Enterprises, also have a wholesale site, and at least four other sites of varying complexity planned. But the retail site will always be the biggest focus in terms of Spartacus's web presense.

Naturally I'm also webmastering for 4.33 other sites, 3.33 of them via Panharmonicon. But it doesn't pay as well.

Is this for Spartacus in Portland? I remember taking a friend there a few years ago on her birthday to spend 100 bucks that her awful father gave her as a gift. The guy couldn't be bothered to buy a real gift. He hands her cash. So I took her to buy sex toys and other hilarious things.

So, now that it's next week, what have you been doing for the last three months?

Will I see you when I'm in Portland for new years, 27thish to 3rd, staying at Zaria's? Aredridel says I might have to find some secret house first, and I might get killed on the way...

Since Wednesday morning I've been waiting for my artboss the marketingguy to officially approve the new site so I can redirect DNS. I'm getting tired of waiting.

For the past three months ... well, that'll fill up another entry.

I will be back in Portland from Xmas in Missouri mere hours before the New Year. So yes, you might see me. I've never been to Zaria's place. Anyone at Winch-on-Green can direct you to The Secret House, but we really prefer arrangements be made in advance (hence the name).

So like... two of my best friends (Jen and Anya) work in the Clackamas store!
You've probably met Jen, she used to work in the downtown store.

What's up?

Cool! But I don't think I do know either of them. There's a Jen who works downstairs in the office, but presumably she's a different person? I haven't made it out to the Clackamas store yet, but I go spend money at the downtown store every few weekends. I work in the art department at the warehouse.

As per my post, I'm their webmaster, so no, I don't work in the store. The "art department" is a graphic design department. Spartacus does manufacturing, distribution and wholesale along with retail, so the art department does all of the packaging for our products, all of the catalogs, fliers, and price lists, the graphic design for the websites, logos and branding on the products themselves, our business cards, booth displays for the tradeshows we attend, and advertisements for newspapers and catalogs. They've also started making end products since they've accumulated so many gorgeous photos, and soon we'll be retailing greeting cards and calendars and so forth.
