I didn't sleep most of the night.pairodoxMay 17 2006, 12:41:24 UTC
And I had two beautiful women in my bed. Yeah, I know it isn't anything you haven't heard before, but it has been a little while. It isn't nearly as thrilling as it sounds though. Things are never simple, and I was only a mild devil (by my standards). Who knows, given another six months, I might have good news. It is just very doubtful.
So how was the nuclear reactor? What highlighted the experience for you, besides, you know, the massive amount of power flowing around you.

I miss you and your beautiful women. I have a gorgeous boy in my bed, and he has excellent taste in hotties, but we're both pretty shy.
The best part was seeing it glow - Cerenkov radiation, which is sort of like a sonic boom only for light. Blue because it was in water for cooling.
It was the research reactor at Reed. Nick worked there and got an operator's license the first year (and then stopped when he had to take ochem and physics and the like). It's actually pretty low-power, in the few hundred kilowatt range.
I would be all about nuclear reactors if it weren't for the waste disposal issue. I think we're a long way from a good solution on that. They sure are swell for research though.
If I was rich I would be throwing money at the fusion people.
