Hey, thought you had dropped off the face of the earth! I'm glad you are back. What interesting places have you found in Chicago? I just found this place called the Heartland Cafe, on Lunt street a few blocks from the lake. It was perfect for a hot summer day. It was near 100 degrees that day, and I was trying to look up an old friend who lives a block away when I found this place. It has both inside and outside seating, and it was so cool and inviting inside that I sat there and had lunch for about 3 hours that day. I love going somewhere and just sit and read, and this place is empty most of the afternoon so they didn't mind. If you find anyplace interesting, let me know, I'll try them out. The people in Chicago are so interesting to watch. I went to this old diner on Granville (right near the El) called Standees a couple of weeks ago, and it was full of odd and unusual people. One guy was going on and on about how he had the most magnificent hair! (looked kinda greasy to me....) I had to smile; he will probably be bald in 10 years
( ... )
I have heard of Hearland Cafe already, funny your the second person to request this hot spot! I need to go check it out now!
As for people watching ... it should become a professional sport! I took in some people watching yesterday as I sat on the stairs of the Art Institute. It really takes all kinds, huh?
Feel free to add me as a friend ... I added you as well!
so what area are you living in? there is market days today for good ppl watching and photo snapping. tonight is cafe luciano's closing party, so i'm going to that event...there's so much to do, depending on where abouts you live!
I am living in Wrigleyville right now. Living close to the lake is great, but I find that area to be infested with "Frat Boys" and on the weekends the stench of beer can wake anyone up from a sound sleep. Oh well, I had no idea what area to settle down in.
Hey, thanks for adding me. Just woke up...my thoughts are a bit fuzzy right now. Anyway, I was thinking about Wrigleyville, I think I'll keep looking elsewhere. Maybe up by Rogers Park. It looks a bit quieter. Rick.
yeah, it is quieter farther up north. i live in edgewater, on sheridan, and sometimes you forget that you're in the city, because the lake is so peaceful.
Yeah ... GREEN! I need to stop with the green! I am becoming obsessed!
I heard that i am REALLY going to love the winters here. I am so anxious and nervous for that, guess i am going to have to buy a winter coat sometime soon! haha
