Feb 21, 2009 09:11

I saw this at Ramblings on Romance Etc. who saw it at Book Binge thought I'd do it too! I'm still so new at romance, many of these are on my TBR list.

The ones I've read are in bold and the ones in the TBR pile are italicised.

Beware, very long list! )

I love Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series. I just finished To Sir Phillip with Love, not the best of the series, but I still liked it. Can you believe it, I'm actually going to be reading Dunnet's Pawn soon? I'm just going to bite the bullet and finish the damn series! LOL! How did you like the Susan Enoch books, I haven't read her yet.

Do you work through your TBR-Pile by the letter? I am not so organized, I must admit. :)
I liked Susan Enoch's book very well. She has a similar feeling as Julia Quinn for me. It's been some time since I read them, though. These days I'm more into PNR and am totally hooked on the "In Death" books, mysteries with a heavy romantic streak and a wonderful leading couple. :)
And I think it's commentable that you are holding on on Lymond, since people usually LOVE it or leave it alltogether. Pawn was for me the hardest of all the books and it almost broke my heart. After that Checkmate is a much needed relief, although not light either.

Btw, I always wanted to ask you how you liked Marsha Canham's Highlander books. They say they are good for Outlander lovers. I am very curious but don't want to spend money on them and be disappointed afterward.

I counted 53. I've orobably read more, but there are SO many I've read and forgotten. I have read every book by Austen, Johanna Lindsey, Kathleen Woodiwiss. And I've read lots of Mary Balogh. I especially like the 'simply' series.

I remember you mentioning Mary Balogh to me years ago and said you liked them, I still haven't read one of hers yet, but I have them coming up on my list. I hope I like them, are they kind of angsty?

what a list! nopressurehere February 26 2009, 21:33:29 UTC
Wow, that is some list.

(I posted a comment earlier from an old LJ account that I had created and then forgot about. So if you got another random message, sorry that was me.)

I've read all of Johanna Lindsey, Judith McNaught, Jude Devereux and Jayne Anne Krentz. I'm currently reading through all of Lisa Kleypas and I'm especially enjoying those Wallflower books.

Do you have any book recommendations of things that you particularly liked?

Well, I love Lisa Kleypas, but I also LOVE Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series. She is tops if you like Regencies with a bit of sex in them! :P

I also really like Scottish Highlander romances, Monica McCarty is good, as well as Karen Marie Moning, and of course, my favorite is Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Elizabeth Hoyt is good, and I loved Joanna Bourne's The Spymaster's Lady. I also really love Julie Garwoods Scottish medievals (my favorite is The Bride) - so many I love! Have fun reading!
