I love Kindle and my iPod Touch!

Mar 04, 2009 17:19

I just did the coolest thing! I just downloaded the new Kindle App (free) at Apple onto my iTouch, and voila then I went into my Amazon account and bought my first ebook! I got Highland Warrior by Monica McCarty, which I've been wanting to read - how cool is that? Instant gratification!

This could be dangerous...

kindle, itouch

Apple knows how to make things dangerous LOL

I also understand why they ask you to put your credit card number when you register on Itunes. After that you can buy anything with only one click, without thinking.

(btw I had to give my mother's card number, somehow they didn't accept mine. They kept saying the secret code on my card was not correct *wtf*. That's why I only download free things from them.)

Yup, I know what you mean about the "one click". I did it this morning downloading Jersey Boys - it was so easy and quick!

Very nice! I'll have to download it on my iPhone. I can definitely see this being dangerous to my bank account!

Oh yes, it is very easy to suddenly start buying things left and right! I also downloaded Stanza for free, another ebook supplier that was just bought out by B&N. Lucky you, you have an iPhone. I wonder why they didn't put a camera on the iTouch?

does it read easily, like a page of a book I mean? I love these kind of gadgets. :)

You just move your finger across the front of the iTouch and it moves from page to page. It's hard to describe, you have to see it in person. The iTouch is smaller than the real Kindle, but will certainly help in a pinch when you find yourself standing in line or waiting somewhere with nothing to read!

So cool. You are making me want an iTouch!

It is very cool!

If you can get an iPhone instead of an iTouch, do that. We have already existing contracts with Verizon for another 2 years or so, so I didn't get the iPhone, but you can do more with it. It has internet everywhere, you don't have to be in WiFi areas, and it has a camera. But, I still love this iTouch, especially since we already had it and I basically inherited it and didn't have to go out and buy one! My husband barely used his, so he let me have it.

I worked out today and listened to A Tale of Two Cities on it. I'm realizing, Dickens probably isn't the best thing to listen to while working out. It needs too much concentration!

I would do the iPhone if the monthly bill wasn't so high. I can't afford that. My current cell bill is around $30. I like that. So if I want something it is going to have to be the iTouch.

That is really cool. Part of me wishes my cousin would do that. He tends to buy things and then he decides he is being too materialistic and gives them to us. *lol*

I can see that though some books I find hard to read like the Dune series were much easier to deal with in audiobook formats.

Hey! Welcome to the club! (Sort of) :D
Btw, you can easily find free Kindle books on amazon through junglesearch:
http://www.jungle-search.com/US/kindle.php
Set the price range from zero to zero (choose your genre) and Voila!
They change the offers from time to time, so get them while you can. :)

Edited to use my new Sony eReader icon. ;)
