I'm waiting for paperback, but I'm more and more disappointed with each book. I can reread the first two books very easily, but when it is time to open another one it is an effort to do so. Lately I've skipped to the important scene (ie. Claire's return until they decided to leave Lallybroch, Bree finding her father, etc...).
It is getting to the point, where I'd beg Diana to simply give the serie a closure.
I'm hoping the next book is the last, it really does need closure, I think she's sick of it. She has said before that she intends to write a prequel about Dougal, Ellen, Brian Fraser and Colum at Leoch - now that would be interesting!
I haven't read it yet, but I'm so glad you liked it. Diana will be in Toronto for a book signing next week so I'll get to hear her speak for the second time, which is awesome.
Lucky you! I wish so much she'd come to my area (near NYC), but she never seems to make it to NYC when her books come out. I wonder if she avoids the area because of it's craziness. :(
I tend to agree with your assessment. I loved the book but it lacked something that Ashes had in abundance. I get that at times that wouldn't have worked but I preferred Ashes so much. Maybe the next one will be better and I really hope we don't have to wait 4 years!
