I am overwhelmed with the response I've received within the last twenty-four hours of creating this livejournal. I mean, some of my absolute favorite authors have stopped by to comment here and help me out with navigating LJ, and I can only give my most emphatic thanks to all of you. I love this fandom so much

(It drives me mad when I see reviews telling authors what they should write, and also when authors ask "what would you like to see next?" I mean, really - WHO is writing the story? Is it a group effort? (Gee - do you think I have an opinion on that? *g*)
Oh, yes, I know exactly what you mean. To be honest it makes me feel rather nervous when the author needs to ask the audience where the story should go--I mean, the characterizations and plot should be leading up to something-- otherwise, where is the story going? What's the point of it, if the author doesn't have a direction?
The thing is, with Two Fathoms Deep, I put a lot of thought into where the plot was going and who would be involved. Unfortunately, my characterizations feel a little-- heavy? too mature for their age?-- and now that these characterizations strike me as off, I would either have to finish the story keeping them as they are or I would have to end it ( ... )

I've absolutely seen you before on Fic Alley! :) I post at Wolfstar too - though I lurked for a few months first!

I know what you mean! My first HP fic was also Second Year when they discovered Remus' 'secret'. It was SO hard to write from the perspective of 12/13 year old! The fic I'm writing now takes place a few months later (end of 2nd year) and it's just as hard. My friend Kyrie who betas for me kept yelling at me: "A 12 year old wouldn't SAY that, and I don't care if he IS a wizard!" LOL I do think that both Remus' and Sirius' ( ... )

*nods* Yes, that is my thinking too, and that Remus especially would be rather aware of his feelings. It's finding the right balance that is so tricky-- writing them in anything below fifth year is such a challenge!
Frankly, I was a bit floored myself at how nice and friendly so many of the people in the R/S section of the LJ fandom have been. But (if you haven't noticed! LOL) I'm a bit gabby at times and I can ramble on for ages if I don't stop myself - (and go off on complete tangents, too! *g*), but I was tentative at first - I hate feeling like I'm walking in in the middle of a conversation or something, you know?Yes, that's exactly how I'm feeling! All my fellow puppyshippers have been incredible, and I can't say how much I appreciate all the help and advice people have been throwing my way. And I'm glad you're "a bit ( ... )
