Do you do volunteer work, or have you ever done any in the past?
I'm signed up/approved to volunteer for the county 4-H and I've done NARHA programs in the past. As a rule, since I work in the nonprofit sector, I try to limit how much free labor I give away and won't volunteer at all for museums (if they want my work, they can pay.)
Have you ever been to a bachelor or bachelorette party?
We had a bachelorette party for one friend, though it wasn't really very exciting.
Did any of your family members serve in WWII?
My maternal grandfather was in the Navy on merchant marine gun crews. Lots of my uncles on my dad's side were in-one of his brothers was in the Corps of Engineers, one was a radio officer on a bomber in Europe, his oldest brother did something in the Pacific, his brother-in-law was a paratrooper in Pacific.
What's your favorite kind of salad?
I really like the Wendy's BLT Cobb. Mostly, though, any salad that does not contain fruit and is prepared by someone else.

I'm really not sure. Define "realistic."

What is your last name's heritage/country of origin?
Interesting question. The name I HAVE is Anglo, specifically common to the Isle of Man (where I'd like to be rich enough to move someday, but that's as may be.) It's NOT the real family name. That's a fairly difficult to pronounce Polish surname that means "little bird." My grandfather changed it at some point after moving to America because it's one of those names even other Poles have trouble pronouncing.
When did you last buy a new pair of shoes? What kind?
I don't remember, really, except when I bought Smooth shoes last fall at Harvest Moon ball in Chicago. I hate shoe shopping and can never find anything I like that fits.

My mother just gave me hers when I sold my old one, and THAT one had been my grandmother's before I got it, which replaced the Mystique, which we paid cash for new.

I don't know about shock. Greece was different, I guess. It was probably a bigger culture shock moving to Virginia and New England (not a bad shock in the former case.)
