So last week we had beautiful weather over here in Berlin, whereas now it's just raining all the freaking time again. Anywho, on one of those sunny days I went to this quasi-botanical garden called "Gardens of the World" where, as the name suggests, they have gardens (and flowers etc.) from different corners of the globe. 'Twas real purrty...

Heh! I can see how that garden would appeal to an Arab in one way, because when I was in Palestine the ground was so rocky that with the addition of only a few more stones, or the subtraction of only a little soil, it would have looked just like one of those Japanese temple gardens where they rake the pebbles into swirls to contemplate. Any rain that fell was carefully gathered into cisterns, and doled out sparingly. I guess that's what happens when land is intensively farmed for over 10,000 years ( ... )
