I honestly think he knew that all along and as much as he tried to be supportive with Pete, it was killing him inside.

Oh, totally! He was just pretending he didn't know squat because he thought it was best for Sam. Silly, silly Jack ;)

Very nicely done and very much in character. I enjoy reading these types of fics that could fit seamlessly into the show.

Thank you! I try to stay as close to canon as I can, and I'm glad I seem to be getting the characters right. That's the biggest compliment for me :D

There are simply times when nothing but the sense of touch can truly reassure. You've captured one of them. Of course it would be more upsetting that he was injured here, where she thought he'd be safe.

So true. And I thought, this touch would even be more significant here because these two usually try to avoid getting too close.
