I ponder about the Art of Adaption book to other media a lot (Using public transport gives me lots of pure thinking time). Its one of my favorite subjects.

Also the effect of the movies on literature, while there is still great literature being written, most best sellers, it appears to me, are written like it is happening on a movie screen.

Hi. Which particular books are written like it's on the screen? Dan Brownesque? I am beginning to think that screen adaptation is increasingly seen as a marker of success for a piece of literature. I haven't quite decided if this is a good or bad thing. We can' really blame the author for agreeing to film adaptation can we? with the kind of money involved, why not? I would also think that the good adaptations encourage people to go 'back' to reading the book. so that's good, right? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I forgot to tell you that my other favourite author is Nick Hornby.

What you doing tomorrow night? Fancy meeting up for a drink or two?
