A duvet is a down comforter... aka a white comforter filled with either cotton or feathers. The duvet cover (which I will be purchasing soon) is the cover that goes over the duvet making it look like a comforter, but it's not, it's better. Say your comforter gets dirty and you have to clean it... you have to shove the entire thing into the wash. Well, with a duvet, you only have to put the duvat cover into the wash, which is just fabric... no massiveness there!!! And also, it's cheaper to buy a duvet cover than an entire new comforter!!! So if I get tired of my duvet cover and I want to change the pattern, all I have to do is buy another cheap duvet cover!!!
