Ok, life at the moment... I don't remember a lot of this week, and I'm very tired right now having managed to catch about an hour's sleep in the past... while.
Ok, last time I updated it was Monday, right? Well, I went to bed late that evening, so the next morning I slept far more than I should have... 'Til like four or so. I spent the rest of that day writing (writer's block is gone, whoo) cos all the sleep had made me lazy.
Wednesday, I also got up late, I did. I heard Liz and Jen (and other people) were in town, so I went in for about an hour. I don't remember anything we did, or even if we did anything of any importance... I remember Jen had to leave almost as soon as we arrived. We bumped into Peter and co. Heh.
Thursday, Faye and Ruth were selling tickets for the Importance of Being Earnest (not the school one, a different one (a worse one, I might hasten to add (despite the fact we haven't started auditions for the parts in our Importance of Being Earnest... but shh (hehe, I'm amusing myself by needlessly nesting brackets (ok, I'm gonna stop))))) but I didn't want to go.
So then we went to the Make Poverty History march! It was so fun. I got covered in Scotch tape, and drank more strawberry milk than was healthy for me, and danced to music from Irish bands who I didn't really know. And yer wan from Father Ted was there, telling us to "go on, go on, go on..." and so on and so forth. We sat down and played cards, and invited random strangers to play with us. But Faye only had oddly-shaped cards, so it was awkward, and have you ever tried explaining Cheat to a guy who doesn't speak English?
But then it started to rain, and the crowd thinned slowly. We stayed, dancing in the rain for a while. I was cold, and Katie-Jane gave me her leather jacket. I was oddly touched by that, probably because I would probably never lend any clothes to anyone, heh... Maybe it was a sort of altruistic instinct, the male parts of her brain looking out for the female parts of mine (god knows there's an awful lot of them to look out for, heh.) She told me to keep it on the way home... I still have it, I was supposed to meet up with her today to give it back, but she didn't answer her phone. Ah well, I'm sure I'll see you (if you're reading this) sometime in the next week.
And after that, some of us (i.e. only Ciaran and James) went to see War of the Worlds. I kind of want to see it, seeing as I've seen the 50s version so many times... But instead we went back to Ruth's, and watched... Dark Water or something. Japanese horror thingy. Made by the same guy who made the Ring, or so I was told. It was pretty creepy, some jumpy moments. It was hard to get the atmosphere, though, when people kept talking and making fun of the movie even though there was nothing to make fun of. They were just afraid to let themselves get into the movie in case they got scared...
And then I come to yesterday. Had to get up at half ten, HALF TEN! *shudder* I s'pose I had to get up even earlier to go to Galway, but still. Got money out, went into town, and we all went to Cavan for the night. There was so much food... And icecream. And we watched movies. Good movies. I'll try and remember them... The high point was definitely Chicago. I love that film :) We also watched Dogma, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moulin Rouge, Eddie Izzard, Fight Club, Free Enterprise... something else? I don't remember. I didn't sleep... Apparently my parents tried calling me, but I had no coverage. Oops. Hehe, there was a homophobe there called Heidi. She was very scared of me, so I made a special effort to be exceptionally camp :D
There's details there, but I really can't be bothered... Anyway, left Aoibheann's at about... half nine-ish. Got to the bus station just in time to see the ten o'clock bus leave, so I waited an hour there for the eleven o'clock. It was quite awkward, since I was with Karl, who I don't know IN THE SLIGHTEST. And this random old Cavan guy came up to me and said "You've a fine head of curls on you there..." Except he had to say it about seven times before I understood his thick accent. Finally, got on the bus, dozed a little there... My internal clock is screwed up so it felt like evening when I walking through Dublin.
I called Katie-Jane (was supposed to be meeting up with her, Joelle and Lauren), but she didn't answer, so I just said I'd walk to the Green and see if they were around there. On the way, I passed a bus stop, and JUST as I was passing it, a 16 pulled up, which is the bus that goes straight to my house. So, yeah, it kinda seemed like a sign. Almost like this whole world was made for me... Hehe. I like that movie.
So, I got home, found dad had screwed around with my firewall, meaning until he gets back I can only use webmessenger. Decided to write an obscenely long update, the fruits of which you see here. I think the house is empty... I HOPE the house is empty. I should cook myself something. I haven't eaten since... four? heh.
Katie wants me to meet up with Glencree people on Tuesday. I don't see why not, if I have nothing else to do.
Oh, I don't know what reminded me of this, but something did! The 7Up Oompa Loompas! They were wearing green wigs and handing out free 7Up Free on the Luas and giving out free Luas passes, and then they were at the top of Grafton Street handing out balloons, and playing the drums. I loved them. I think I'll buy 7Up Free, just because they had such a fantastic promotional campaign.
I should wrap this up. In tinfoil. Awful joke.
Oh, so I won't see Joelle all summer. She's going away to the Gaeltacht, and I'm going away to CTYI and then the Gaeltacht, and then when I come back, she'll have gone somewhere else. Probably Geneva again. Seriously, how often can one person go to Geneva?! Heh.
Tomorrow is a secret, k? Nobody can know I'm being hypocritical! *eyes Jen and Liz suspiciously*
Oh, came upon some truths about people. Some of them weren't particularly nice truths to have to come to, but... Yeah. Talk more about that some other time.
Sorry for writing so much. Well done if you read it all. If you didn't, you get an F. No, an F MINUS. Oh yeah, I went there.
(Excuse the spelling mistakes, if there are any... I can't be bothered checking.)
